things i observed...
1) everyday 6pm, all radio and tv station wld play thai national anthem. and there was once i was walking along a market and everyone juz stop doing whatever they were doing and stand up straight. and i continue to look at things coz i din know its national anthem :P
2) i went to watch a movie at a cinema. it cost only $5 on a fri night okie! the cinemas are same like sg gv. once again, a video was starting to play, everyone stands up again. yes inside a cinema. i just copy them. but it was like a tribute to their King. a videoclip of him taking notes at fieldtrip. well, i was quite surprise tt everyone stood up and was serious. i bet if it is in sg, some youngsters will juz not be bothered and make some noise, agree?
3) i still see ppl wearing yellow shirts ( if u had read some news abt it, it has something to do with the King again. ). there are many designs in the market. there are also hairband, plastic bags, aprons ard. lol..
4) went with his family to many temples to give big candles ( tallest cld reach 1.5m i think). den have to pray n chant following the monk. but i juz put both of my palms together tts all. n monks cannot receive things directly from us i think. have to put things on a yellow cloth first. one of those monks we visited gave out some sort of pendant of buddha. everyone took out their hand to receive it. so i just followed. n i thot i shld just raise my hand higher to receive it but the monk drew back his hand, know why? coz monks cannot touch girls. girls shldn't even touch their robe. so be careful the next time u see one. haha.. it was quite stressed for me. imagine u dunno other country's culture and u did it wrong n everyone jus look at u. how bad is tt? just wanted to catch hold of the gift better, yet wrong. hmm..
5) pubs n clubs close at 2am. early? no selling of alcohol after 12midnight. anyway, i managed to visit the place where all backpackers stay. the one they always recommend on tv. it was late. so all i saw was ang mohs and hookers. got ah gua also. scary.. den we went to some cafe. we were served beers n barcadi in tea cups. police r watching outside. haha..
