HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!

honestly, i was looking forward to this year's chinese new year, because i sort of missed last year's. I was in china, yes, although the chinese new year atmosphere was stronger in china, lots of fireworks and firecrackers everywhere, I am just too used to celebrating chinese new year in Singapore, in my way.

First day of Chinese New Year has got to be the same as usual, visiting my ah mas and other relatives. My ah mas can really cook! Super yummy ngoh hiong, steamboat with Prawns, abalone, scallops, eat until scare ar, really. The whole day was spending eating everywhere, there wasn't a chance for my stomach to rest. its like even though i am not hungry, i am not full until i can't eat anymore either. There is always space for good food, eh?

This year's ang bao content is also better than usual. No blue notes but majority are red notes leh, only 2 or 3 $4 i think. Seems like inflation doesn't affect my relatives huh. But i don't intend to spend the money away, I will bank them in after chinese new year is over. All these will contribute to exchange programme, of course!

Second day of Chinese New year was spent rotting away at my cousin's house. Seriously, i got no luck when it comes to gambling. Played blackjack with my cousins and mom, i took $2 from my mom as starting bid, after many many rounds, i got back nothing, lose nothing, because when i lose, my mom won't take from me, when she got no more to pay my cousins (shes the banker), I give her my earnings. Whats the point of playing like that right? In the end, my cousin asked to me play to fill up the space, but aiya, no interest. I gonna quit blackjack and concentrate in mastering mahjong in future. Now, who is opening a gambling den at home?

Third day of CHinese new year was spent at mr n mrs lim house. So long no see,really. About half of 04s04 was there, 4 of us played mahjong, no luck again, lost $2, luckily only $2 :P Then the rest also played other games, and whatever they play, I joined in. Jack of all trades, master of none, thats me. Their house is really simple yet sophisticated, I like that idea. Only a few regular class outing people stayed til late night, and we are smart, because we got treats! Our teachers treat us to coffeeshop zi cha, got steamed fish leh! then, darius treat us to starbucks. In exchange, we accompanied him for 2 hours before his next prog of the midnight.
Ms Lim gave me quite a few good guidance to my career path, so thankful for that, i was so lost and so hopeless before that. My mother couldn't understand me, she always think i chose life science when actually life sci chose me, and she somehow makes me feel even worse about taking this course. I used to hate life sci, really. But now, i am more brave to face the future. I really want to be successful, i don't wanna live off my another half in future, even though i jokingly said that to ppl.
Chit-chatting session was about uni, about relationships, about life. the rest was relatively quiet, darius and our teachers hosted the show.

- sometimes, couples who have been together for many years, find it difficult to proceed on to the next stage
- girls are scary, they really think too much about future
- usually the best ones are snatched in the first year of uni
- uni is the best place to find a partner, its harder in working environment

i was listening all the way and i felt the threat.
but heck, life is more than getting attached and married young.

today would be the last day of chinese new year holidays. more programmes coming up but they would be the last. back to books on monday :S
