New toy!

ya, a new toy, a IT gadget! I have got a new pc with window vista for free! nope, not some lucky draw, not from some sugar daddy either. i recontract my broadband with singnet and they gave me a free pc! have been using it for the past few days, and i think vista is ok, not as bad as what some people have told me. and my new contract comes with a wireless modem too, finally i can bring my laptop around the house without having to drag the modem along!

but hang on, i am not that greedy to sign up a more expensive plan just to get a pc that seems to be free when i already have a laptop. my mom is the actually owner of it! have been teaching her how to use the computer, watching shows and play wahjong recently. sometimes she would just suddenly shout out to me and get so paranoid about what to do when she accidently click elsewhere or type something else. that sort of irritates me about why she doesn't know such simple things also, but at the same time, its so funny when she makes silly blunders with the high tech gadget that she rarely touch.

anyways, i feel so much better this week, i feel that i have regain much of my confidence. i had managed the first practical session for my miniproject on zebrafish DNA quite well, getting reasonable results and such. hopefully i can finish everything by next session! another thing that also makes me feel better is my exchange application, i think NUS has already sent out my application and i have also done some research on courses to take over there. so not gonna regret anymore and just go for it!

today is suppose to be my free day whereby i could watch the lecture online rather than being in the LT physically. but i went to school still, for club meeting. A few of us had a meeting with Frau Niemann. Woah woah, once we entered the meeting room, she started conversing with us in german, auf Deutsch! Ya, i know our club is called German Language Society, but i still took some time to get use to this idea of having meeting in a language which i am still learning.

So the meeting went on a good 15minutes auf Deutsch! We were suppose to introduce ourselves auf Deutsch too, omg, my mind just went blank, especially when the one who spoke before me said something more sophisticated.

put in 200% focus and concentration to try to understand everything that she said, its really not easy, unlike normal german class lesson, because she really speak the normal German which i think she uses in daily life, with many words that i have never hear of and at a x2 or even x3 speed she used to speak when i was in her class last semester.

while i was still in shock and trying my best to understand her, each time i heard something that i understand fully, i involuntarily nod my head, i think language learners would understand such a incomprehensible motion.

Jumble up words got stuck in my mouth whenever i want to raise a point, in the end i chose to swallow them. some others could just response fast and casually to her, maybe after my exchange, i would also?

zum Gluck, she reverted back to using english language............................

gotta slp early tonight because i signed up for a biocareer talk and fair tomorrow. and its business wear! i have got other things on after that, in business wear? oh no....

here's a song to recommend, its stuck in my head right now. i struggled to refrain my heels from springing up and down when i was listening to it at the bus stop the other day. play it if you wanna be springy~~
